Hey, I want a pear right now. Go get me one? Thanks.

What? A Packham Pear?
What do I look like, some kind of Australian pack mule? Go get me people food, jerk.
An Anjou?

What do I look like, some damn kind of Plantagenet? Is this my coat of arms? Pssh, no. Go get me some peasant food.
Ugh, Bosc? Bosc??? Are you kidding me?
Eww.
Oh, finally, a Barltett. Also known as a Williams’ Bon Chrétien. Yes, that is the pear I wanted. You should have brought that to me first. Idiots.
Just be glad that there ARE varieties of pears. Bananas are basically down to ‘anything outside of the United States’ and ‘Cavendish.’ And one day, all of those will be gone, and we’ll be telling our kids about the good ol’ days when bananas still had even a modicum of taste and hardiness.

Nothing worse than getting charged Cavendish prices for Latundan product…
